The newlyweds, who eloped earlier this month, both wore black, with Cheryl stepping out in a Ralph & Russo, the British couture design duo.
It was Cheryl’s first time wearing a dress by the label, which continues to go from strength to strength.
“This gown was perfect for Cheryl on her special day,” Ralph & Russo designer Tamara Ralph told Vogue.
“The play on fabrics and simple silhouette is what really makes this gown so striking. The sumptuous, rich velvet and duchess silk bodice contrasted with a delicate, sheer silk-chiffon skirt brought an element of fun to the overall look whilst still being romantic. Cheryl’s choice of black for a wedding celebration was so unexpected but I love the fact that she surprised everyone.”
The Geordie beauty styled the look with a simple black python clutch, strappy sandals, a slicked back hair do and glossy red pout.
The petite star had expressed interest in the dress after the Couture show in January, originally intending to wear it to the Cannes Film Festival but it was unavailable.
After Kim Kardashian covered Vogue in a dove grey silk gown, eBay reported a rise in sales of grey wedding dresses.
Will Cheryl kick start a new trend for sombre black wedding dresses?
